LaHood: Tainted Gonzales can't continue in post



CHICAGO - As embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales fled a Tuesday news conference in Chicago, U.S. Rep. Ray LaHood said the presidential appointee is too "tainted" by controversy to remain at the helm of the Justice Department.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales talked in Chicago today about how to keep kids safe from online sexual predators -- but only touched briefly on the controversy that threatens his job in Washington.

Testimonies should be under oath
On the heels of the recent conviction of Scooter Libby on several counts of perjury and obstruction of justice comes the news that the recent firing of eight U.S. attorneys relates not to ordinary political housecleaning (which would be strange, in the middle of a presidential administration) but apparently to partisan politics.
